It is really a shame when people try to undermine your efforts by effectively saying you were lucky to be where you are.

But that's the thing, people typically aren't trying to undermine you. It's just basic fact. The fact that you were born, as opposed to being a miscarriage required some amount of luck.

The fact that your family has enough money to take care of you so you can type on this computer today was lucky for you.

Just because luck was involved, doesn't mean it isn't important. I don't think anyone is saying "Your accomplishments don't count because you just got lucky".

There are of course some kids who are just smarter than others but anytime a high school student says they studied hours and still failed the test it is due to the quality of their studying.

Because taking naps in class means you're "paying attention".

Because God isn't responsible for your ****ups. Just as you have a choice in most of your good decisions, you have a choice in most of your bad. Alternatively: Crashing your car teaches you a lesson about drinking and driving, but luckily no one had to die in the process.

Well, he didn't say that. He said god didn't give him his musical ability. through some genetic luck or some event that may have inspired him, he was drawn to music, and he worked hard and became good. I don't see why he shouldn't be proud that he worked hard for his ability.

And that's what I'm talking about. The man himself worked hard for his ability, but something drew him to it in the first place. And as Bartz said he didn't do anything about being born with an inate talent, or not being boring with a mental problem.

Yes, there is such a thing as a gift, some people are just very good at something for no clear reason at all. Most people call it "natural talent". They didn't have to practice at something to be good at it, that's not how things usually work.


But seriously, he has no reason to be offended by this. No one gets anywhere in life by themself, all of us are influence by God/fate/luck in some way. Unless you're telling me he planned to walk down the path he walked when he was born, someone other than him played a hand in it.


Alternatively, he could be mistaking "God has blessed you with a musical talent" with "God is the only reason you're good at this, don't be proud" as opposed to the actual meaning.

I voted Nintendo(Dat brand loyalty), but in reality I hope it's none of them.

I feel that if any company gets too far ahead of its competition, it'll get lazy. So I hope no one company gets too far ahead, just so it'll have to work harder out of fear of its rivals will pull out in front.

About the sheep....

How many moves would the sheep have to be moved? If you're talking about the pocketball and sheep combo, there was always the chance the sheep could have knocked the lead guy even further ahead. Otherwise the sheep most likely would not have made it in time.

Not to mention had you used scales, and had the gernade killed, Darren would still want SOME money on him(assuming he was running out).

First two minutes in, all I'm seeing are poorly raised kids using the same tired insults. Do they start doing far worse? Because as unfortunate as this is, it's hardly something to lose faith in humanity over. Just more proof that a lot of parents are bad at their job.
